Digimon Tamers é a terceira temporada da série de animação japonesa Digimon, e seu enredo não possui qualquer relação com as temporadas anteriores.A história se passa no oeste de Shinjuku, em Tóquio, onde Digimons são popularmente conhecidos através de jogos de cartas, videogames e série de TV.O personagem principal é Takato Matsuda, um garoto de 10 anos que tem uma vida normal e é fanático por jogo de cartas de Digimon. Tudo começa quando ele encontra em meio a suas cartas de Digimon, um misterioso cartão azul que se transforma no seu digivice D-Ark, um aparelho arredondado com um leitor de cartas ao lado. Quando Takato passa no leitor desse digivice o desenho do Digimon que ele criou, nasce Guilmon, um Digimon feito das informações do desenho de Takato. Até então, Takato nunca imaginou que Digimons poderiam existir, é como se ele estivesse vivendo uma fantasia.Ele nem imagina que existem outros Digimons vivendo nesse mundo, até que conhece Jenrya Lee e Ruki Makino.
