Baseado no hit live-action de 1984-86, esta versão animada segue as aventuras de Punky e seu amigo mágico, Glomer, que veio do mundo no fim do arco-íris. Glomer pode transportar Punky e seus amigos (Margaux, Cherie e Allen) para qualquer parte da terra em um piscar de olhos. Punky Brewster foi dublado pela atriz original, Soleil-Moon Frye.

Esta versão animada da série veio um ano depois de sua contraparte live-action. Tinha as vozes de todos da série e, exclusivamente para esta série de desenhos animados, havia uma criatura mágica parecida com um gremlin chamada Glomer.
