Vários séculos atrás, no condado de Nottingham, um barão cruel e ganancioso chamado Alwine ordenou a destruição do castelo dos Huntingtons - do qual Robin e seus primos, Will, Winifred e Barbara, milagrosamente escaparam. Os jovens buscaram abrigo na floresta de Sherwood. Porém, na floresta vivia um grupo destemido de jovens bandidos, liderados por Little John. Seu primeiro encontro com Robin e seus primos foi a princípio bastante tempestuoso, enquanto os dois grupos lutavam pelo destino de uma jovem e nobre donzela chamada Marian que havia caído nas mãos dos bandidos durante uma emboscada.
