Kanzaki Nao é uma garota ingênua, que recebe 100 milhões de ienes um dia, acompanhados por um cartão dizendo que ela foi escolhida para participar do "Liar Game". O objetivo do jogo é enganar os outros jogadores e ficar com o seu dinheiro. No final, o vencedor ganha 100 milhões e o perdedor fica devendo 100 milhões. No dia seguinte, ela fica sabendo que seu oponente é seu ex-professor, Fujisawa Kazuo. Ela vai até ele procurando ajuda, mas acaba sendo enganada e perdendo seu dinheiro. Ela pede ajuda à polícia, mas eles dizem não poder fazer nada. Porém, contam a ela sobre um fraudador, Akiyama Shin'ichi, que seria libertado da prisão no dia seguinte. Desesperada, ela vai à sua procura pedir ajuda.
