Esta série de desenhos animados, caracterizada por uma animação extremamente limitada, apresenta cinco dos heróis superpoderosos mais populares da Marvel Comics: o Incrível Hulk, o Poderoso Thor, o Capitão América, o Homem de Ferro e o Submarino, cada um dos quais é a estrela de 13 episódios, somando um total de 65. Todos os episódios são divididos em três segmentos de sete minutos separados por uma breve descrição de um dos outros quatro heróis apresentados na série. O Incrível Hulk, no qual o cientista Bruce Banner se transforma sempre que excitado, irritado ou bombardeado por raios gama de uma máquina, freqüentemente combate o Líder, um gênio vilão com um cérebro mutado por raios gama. O inimigo do Capitão América, o Caveira Vermelha, se opõe a ele na Segunda Guerra Mundial na Europa, onde o personagem original do Capitão América, o Capitão Steve Rogers, está estacionado como soldado.
